Drunk Driver’s Car Rams Multiple Vehicles In Navi Mumbai, Police Probe Underway
Speeding Innova allegedly hit parked and moving vehicles near Karave village; no casualties reported, but several vehicles were damaged.
A speeding car allegedly driven under the influence of alcohol created panic in Navi Mumbai after it rammed into multiple vehicles near Karave village, leaving several cars and two-wheelers damaged. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident, but the crash sparked shock among locals and commuters in the area.
According to reports, the vehicle involved was an Innova that was moving at high speed when it hit both parked and moving vehicles along the road. Eyewitnesses said the driver appeared to have lost control of the car, allegedly due to intoxication.
What added to the commotion was that the Innova reportedly had a nameplate reading “Police”, which immediately drew attention and triggered speculation at the scene. Residents said the unusual marking created confusion as people tried to understand whether the vehicle was connected to law enforcement or was being misused.
The situation took another turn after officials inspected the car following the accident. It was reported that an identity card belonging to Mumbai Police Senior Police Inspector Arun Baban Pokharkar was found inside the vehicle. Police have not yet confirmed the full circumstances under which the card was present, but the discovery has led to deeper scrutiny.
“As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and further investigation is underway,” the report noted.
While the absence of injuries has brought some relief, the incident has once again raised concerns about drunk driving and the dangers posed by speeding vehicles on busy urban roads. Locals have demanded strict action to ensure accountability and prevent such reckless incidents from recurring .
