Drunken BMW Driver Stops Car, Urinates on Pune Road; Viral Video Sparks Outrage, Political Leaders Demand Action
Pune Viral Video: A shocking incident has emerged from Pune, where a young man, allegedly intoxicated, stopped his luxury car in the middle of the road and urinated publicly. A video of the act has gone viral on social media, sparking outrage and demands for strict action against the youth
The incident took place at Shastrinagar Chowk on Nagar Road in Pune. In the viral video, a blue BMW can be seen stopped at a traffic signal while a young man relieves himself next to it. When confronted by locals, he allegedly made obscene gestures instead of showing remorse. Another person inside the car, seen holding a liquor bottle, can be heard encouraging the recording of the incident.
Rising Concerns Over Drunken Driving in Pune
Pune has witnessed several incidents of reckless driving under the influence of alcohol. Last year, in Kalyani Nagar, a minor driving a luxury Porsche car in a drunken state crashed into a two-wheeler, killing two people. This latest incident has once again raised concerns over lawlessness and misbehavior on city roads.
Political Reactions and Public Outrage
Following the video’s circulation, several political leaders have expressed their anger. Shiv Sena (Thackeray) leader Vasant More, NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) leader Rupalitai Thombre, and Maharashtra Legislative Council Deputy Chairperson Neelam Gorhe have all condemned the act.
Speaking to media, local residents stated that when they confronted the youth, he not only made obscene gestures but also sped away in his car towards Wagholi.
Growing Safety Concerns in Pune
This incident comes just days after a horrifying case of rape inside a Shivshahi bus at Swargate Bus Depot. Such back-to-back incidents have raised serious concerns about public safety in Pune.
Reacting to the situation, Rupalitai Thombre stated, “The influx of outsiders in Pune has increased, and many are behaving recklessly. The two boys in the video appear to be from well-off families, yet they lacked basic decency to use a restroom. Strict action must be taken against such individuals.”
With mounting public anger and political pressure, authorities are now being urged to take swift legal action against the offenders.
