DSK Garden Enclave resident receives prestigious Param Vishisht Seva Medal

Lt Gen Sanjay Londhe, Sena Medal (Retd) was awarded with the prestigious Param Vishisht Seva Medal for his distinguished service to the nation on January 26, 2021. Through his 37 years of distinguished service, he has been a highly commendable Officer and a driving force for a new era of State-of-the-Art oral care for the Indian Army Dental Corps. General Officer served in Sri Lanka during OP Pawan with IPKF. He has been awarded with Sena Medal (D) in 2019. For his meritorious servive he was awarded with Chief of Army Staff Commendation and Army Commander’s Commendation in the past.

During his laudable service as Director General Dental Services Indian Armed Forces, he has led over 750 Dental Surgeons. He was colonel commandant of Army Dental Corps. He was also appointed as Honorary Dental Surgeon to the President of India.
He is a highly revered administrator, researcher, academician and clinician, and a member of the Indian Dental Association and The Indian Orthodontic Society.

Lt Gen Sanjay Londhe completed his MDS in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics from Armed Forces Medical College, Pune in 1992 and BDS from Government Dental College Nagpur in 1981.

He is also bestowed with the “Sushruta” award by Indian Dental Association for his contribution to Dentistry in India and K K Mistry scroll of honour by Indian Orthodontic Society for his contribution to overall development of Orthodontia as a specialty.

He is the first and only Orthodontist in the world to head any Armed Forces Dental Services. He is also the first Orthodontist to lead the most organized Oral Health care sector of the country.
