Elderly Man Asks Akshay Kumar to Replace Rusted Toilet at Juhu Beach: Actor’s Response Goes Viral
In 2018, after the release of his film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Akshay Kumar sponsored a mobile toilet near Juhu Beach, covering the full installation cost of Rs 10 lakh. Fast forward six years to Wednesday, when an elderly man approached the actor outside a polling station in Mumbai, informing him that the toilet had become completely rusted and asking for a replacement. A video of their interaction quickly went viral on social media.

In the clip, the senior citizen is seen greeting Akshay Kumar and expressing his concern, stating, “The toilet you installed is rusted. I’ve been taking care of it for the past four years.” A taken-aback Akshay replied, “Oh, you are? Alright, I’ll discuss this with the BMC.” The elderly man then suggested, “You just donate the toilet, and I’ll take care of the installation.”
Laughing, Akshay responded, “I’ve already funded it. I’ll now request the BMC to handle its repair and upkeep.” He sponsored the mobile toilet shortly after his wife, Twinkle Khanna, tweeted about people defecating in public at Juhu Beach. She shared a photo of a man defecating at Versova beach with the caption, “Good morning and I guess here is the first scene of Toilet Ek Prem Katha part 2.” Prashant Gaikwad, the municipal commissioner of K-ward, confirmed to PTI that they appreciated his initiative and installed the toilet near Juhu beach just four days ago. He mentioned that Akshay covered all the costs, totaling Rs 10 lakh, for setting up the portable toilet. He also added, “If anyone is willing to maintain it, then the facility can be offered on a pay-and-use basis.”
