Pune, April 15, 2026: Residents of Undri and Mohamadwadi took to the streets with empty buckets and water cans after a sudden suspension of tanker services triggered an acute water shortage across the area.

The demonstration drew participation from multiple housing societies, as locals voiced concern over dry taps and the lack of alternative arrangements. The protest served as a strong message to authorities, with residents demanding immediate action to restore water access.

Several families reported severe inconvenience, stating that daily routines have been disrupted due to complete dependence on private tankers in the absence of a consistent municipal water supply. Many residents also highlighted that the halt in services came without prior notice, leaving societies unprepared.

Citizens have called upon the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to intervene on priority, resume tanker supply, and implement sustainable water infrastructure in these fast-developing suburbs.

With the crisis intensifying, residents have cautioned that protests may escalate if swift and effective measures are not taken.
