Encroachments galore in Wakad
The encroachments in Wakad are increasing day by day.
Datta Mandir road is always in discussion due to hawkers’ issue, signal issue, traffic issue, and encroachment issue. Yet the construction of the road of Datta Mandir is about to complete and its causing issues for the commuters. As there is no parking for vehicles, people are parking their vehicles on road which making the road even smaller to commute at Utkarsh chowk, Janoba Chowk, Euro School chowk and eateries on Pink city road are the hot spots which are causing this problem.
“Infrastructure development can yield the solution for it. The road is in need of footpath cycle track, if proper planning is made then all then citizens will not face any issue in future. Illegal vehicles and unknown vehicles are parked on this road, though it is Tranquil Park Road to Yamuna nagar, costa rica road, so if both sides of roads are get parked with vehicles, then the road is becoming small. Corporation should stop this or at least they start taking fine.” Said Vijay Chavhan, resident crystal Heights society
“Total road of Datta Mandir is not handover to pcmc, and also as the road is lacking footpath which is causing all these problems. We did survey of the road, and have checked for legal and illegal shops and hawkers on the road. We do instruct them to shift near ‘Bhaji Mandai area’ near the bank of the river. Though most of the part is private we can’t take any action on it.” Said Jayram Kanade Assistant Civil Engineer, D Ward
“The road we will construct is of 45 meters, of which 7 and half meter of footpath will be constructed on both sides. Road will not be less than 30 meters. And once the road is constructed, the commutation will be easy and the encroachment issue will also get solve.” Said Pramod Ombase, Executive Engineer D Ward
“We will soon start the winding work of Datta Mandir. The tender process of Datta Mandir road is completed soon the work will start. Its almost 45 crore work. We will design the road as per urban street development within one week we will start the road work. The area which is under the corporation we will construct those parts.” Said Rahul Kalate, Corporator.
