Pune: Dr Rajesh Deshmukh, the Pune District Collector has ordered to divert heavy traffic to an alternative route so that there is no traffic jam during the Navratri Yatra period which starts from October 15 in Vehergaon, Karla area of Maval Taluka.  

As per information, in order to avoid traffic congestion at Vehergaon, Karla, access for heavy vehicles will be closed from October 15 to October 24 between Karla Phata and Sri Ekvira Devi Paytha Mandir.

During the period from October 21 and October 23, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., the traffic of heavy vehicles going to Pune side via Lonavala-Kusgaon Budruk Toll Naka – Wadgaon Phata on the old Mumbai Pune Highway will be diverted towards Pune side via the new expressway via Khandala – Kusgaon Toll Naka. 

Additionally, the traffic from the old Pune-Mumbai highway towards Vadgaon Talegaon Phata – Lonavala – Mumbai side, the traffic of heavy vehicles will be stopped and it will be diverted from Talegaon Phata to Urse Khind, Urse Toll Naka via the new expressway to Mumbai side.

If any statutory issue arises after the notification is implemented, a revised notification will be issued accordingly. Citizens have also been appealed to take note of the changes made in the traffic and cooperate.
