Environment activists demand survey of Baner Pashan hill

Residents and various environment conservation NGO’s from Aundh, Baner, Sus, Balewadi, Someshwarwadi handed over a letter to Sandeep Khalate, assistant commissioner, Aundh ward office demanding immediate survey by government office as well as to decide the actual boundaries, also to publish satellite images every three months on the Pune Municipal Corporation website, appoint a 24 hour security personnel and register the information of the barren land as well as the BDP on the 7/12 extract of Baner tekdi. The residents demanded immediate action of survey of the survey number 7 and 49/1 which are recorded as grassland for grazing for herbivorous animals with the revenue department and have Biodiversity Park reservation in Pune Municipal Corporation.

The copy of the letter was also sent to Swapnali Saikar, local Corporator and Prabhag samiti chairman of Aundh ward office. The residents also demanded that four days before the survey is carried the residents must be informed.

NGO’S Dr Garudkar Vasundhara Abhiyan, Baner residents, Aundh Vikas Mandal, Baner Pashan Link road Vikas Samiti, Pashan Area Sabha, Punarbharan Foundation, Vasundhara Abhiyan Baner and Vasundhara Swachata Abhiyan Pashan, Devnadi Swachata Abhiyan, Ramnadi Swachata Abhiyan and Save Pune Hills have submitted the letter demanding the action before the Pune Municipal Corporation elections are held.
