'Everything Went Dark In Seconds': Moshi Collapse Survivor Recalls Terrifying Six Hours Trapped Under Debris
Pimpri Chinchwad, July 10, 2026: Sujata Shinde, one of the workers rescued six hours after the devastating building collapse at the Moshi Garbage Depot, has recounted the terrifying moments when a massive garbage mound crashed onto the building, trapping several people inside.
Describing the incident, Shinde said some workers were having lunch while others had just arrived to eat when someone suddenly shouted that a huge pile of garbage was sliding toward the building.

“We rushed towards the door, but before we could escape, we were trapped. Everything went dark,” she recalled.
Initially, she said, no one understood what had happened. After some time, voices from fellow workers could be heard from beneath the debris, calling out for help.
“We kept asking for help. Finally, after nearly six hours, the rescue teams managed to pull us out,” Shinde said, describing the ordeal as one of the most frightening experiences of her life.
The Moshi Garbage Depot collapse has claimed one life so far, while rescue teams continue their search for workers who remain trapped beneath the debris.
