Similar FDA Action in Maharashtra
In a separate enforcement drive conducted last month, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) seized and destroyed adulterated milk, dairy products, and sweets worth ₹13.71 lakh across Pune and Solapur districts under its ‘Safe Food, Safe Drug, Safe Maharashtra’ campaign.
The three-day inspection, carried out between June 25 and 27, targeted milk and dairy processing units as well as hotels for alleged violations of food safety norms.
In Shirur taluka, the FDA suspended the licence of Gagangiri Milk and Milk Products after suspected milk adulteration was detected. During the inspection, officials destroyed 12,278 litres of milk. The drive also led to the suspension of food licences of several establishments, including a hotel in Pune’s Tathawade, for serious food safety violations.
