Fake Bomb Threat On Lucknow To Pune IndiGo Flight Sparks Midnight ChaosÂ
A malicious social media post caused panic late Wednesday night, falsely claiming bombs were planted on three IndiGo flights. The post, made by a user, specifically targeted an IndiGo flight from Lucknow to Pune, stating, “I have placed a bomb in the plane, many people are going to die today.”
Ten minutes before the flight’s landing, Pune police received the threat and swiftly responded. The aircraft was diverted to an isolation bay, where passengers were safely evacuated. The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) conducted a thorough search of the plane, finding no explosives.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Himmat Jadhav confirmed that a case has been registered at the airport police station, and a manhunt is underway for the prankster. Authorities condemned the hoax, warning that spreading false information causes unnecessary panic and disrupts public safety.
The quick actions of Pune police, the airport administration, CISF, and IndiGo staff ensured the safety of all passengers. While the threat was ultimately a baseless rumor, the incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of irresponsible social media use. The investigation into the hoax continues.
