Fatal accident in Tamhini Ghat; Traveler bus overturned; 2 dead

The news of a terrible accident has come to the fore from Raigad where a traveler vehicle going from Pune to Mangaon met with an accident.

As soon as the information about the accident was received, rescue teams and ambulances from Mahad, Mangaon have been dispatched to the site.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Sanjay Bhosale, Sub Inspector, Highway State Police, Mahad, said, “The accident took place in Tamhini Ghat at around 7:30 am today (December 30). The traveler vehicle, going from Pune to Mangaon, overturned, leading to the death of 2 people & several injured. The injured have been taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.”

As per information, it is being said that the traveler overturned after the driver lost control at a difficult stretch in Kondeghar village limits in Tamhini Ghat. Many passengers in the traveler were trapped in the accident. Meanwhile, the villagers rushed to help as soon as they got the information about the accident. Citizens evacuated all the passengers stuck in the traveler. However, two people have died reportedly & several people have been injured.

Traffic on this route was disrupted after the accident. However, the traveler was removed with the help of a crane & hence, the traffic has been restored.
