The Miss Universe 2025 pageant concluded in Bangkok with Mexico’s Fatima Bosch emerging as the new global beauty queen. Thailand’s Praveenar Singh, Venezuela’s Stephany Abasali, Philippines’ Ma. Ahtisa Manalo, and Cote d’Ivoire’s Olivia Yace secured the first, second, third, and fourth runner-up positions, marking a diverse and competitive finale.

Celebrating Bosch’s win, the official Miss Universe Instagram page posted, “Tonight, a star was born. Her grace, strength, and radiant spirit captured the hearts of the world… The universe shines a little brighter with her leading the way.”

Victory After a Dramatic Pageant Walk-Out

Bosch’s crowning moment is especially notable as it followed a tense controversy earlier in the competition. She reportedly walked out after contesting instructions from organisers to promote Thailand — the host country — through her social media accounts.
Her refusal led Miss Universe Thailand National Director Nawat Itsaragrisil to call her a “dumbhead”, a remark that quickly went viral and drew criticism online.

Attempting to defuse the situation, Bosch tried explaining her stance, but the exchange escalated, prompting her to leave the venue. Several other contestants walked out in solidarity, leading to a temporary halt in the proceedings.
Itsaragrisil later issued a public apology, allowing the pageant to move forward and ultimately leading to Bosch’s historic win. The incident has sparked conversations about contestant autonomy, pageant pressures, and social media expectations in global competitions.

Who Is Fatima Bosch?

At just 25, Bosch is already an accomplished fashion designer, having pursued her studies in the US and Italy. She has been vocal about her early struggles with dyslexia and ADHD, often sharing her story to inspire young individuals facing similar challenges.

Beyond fashion, Bosch is known for her advocacy work. She champions sustainable fashion practices and is the first Miss Mexico from Tabasco to dedicate significant efforts toward children battling cancer.
Her annual toy drive at the Oncology Hospital of Tabasco has grown into a widely supported initiative, highlighting her commitment to community service.

A Prestigious Title With Major Perks

Winning Miss Universe brings more than just global recognition. As per reports, Bosch will receive:

  • $250,000 (around ₹2.2 crore) as prize money
  • An annual salary of $50,000 (approx. ₹44 lakh) to support her travel and goodwill initiatives
  • A premium residence in New York City for the duration of her reign
  • The iconic Miss Universe crown, valued at over $5 million (around ₹44 crore)

During her year-long tenure, Bosch will participate in global campaigns, charitable events, fashion weeks, and international conferences, representing both Mexico and the Miss Universe brand.

Fourth Mexican to Win the Global Title

Fatima Bosch now enters the league of Mexico’s Miss Universe winners, becoming the fourth Mexican to hold the crown. She follows in the footsteps of Lupita Jones (1991), Ximena Navarrete (2010), and Andrea Meza (2020) — all of whom remain iconic figures in the global pageant community.

With her blend of elegance, conviction, and social impact, Bosch’s reign is expected to be influential and inspiring, both within the pageant world and beyond.
