FDA conducts campaign against adulterated edible oil till August 14

Pune: Assistant Commissioner of Food and Drug Administration Office AG Bhujbal informed that a campaign is being conducted in the Pune division till August 14 to address the adulteration of edible oil, vegetable oil and multi-source edible oil.

The Food and Drug Administration takes samples of edible oil for laboratory testing in order to ensure that good quality edible oil is available to the general public.

On the same lines, as per the directives of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, New Delhi, a survey campaign is being conducted across the state for edible oil, vegetable oil and multi-source edible oil.

This campaign is being implemented from August 3 to 14.

Multi-source edible oil cannot be sold without an Agromark license. Selling loose edible oil is prohibited and action will be taken against those who sell it.

As part of the campaign, a total of 50 survey samples including 46 of edible oil, 1 of vegetable oil and 3 of multi-source edible oil have been taken for examination in the Pune Division on August 3rd and 4th.

Once the analysis report of the survey sample is received, further action will be taken as per the law.
