Greater Noida police have filed an FIR against unknown persons following an incident where a minor boy, believed to be around 9 or 10 years old, allegedly threw a puppy from a high-rise building in Gaur City-2.

The complaint, lodged by a volunteer from the non-governmental organization People For Animals (PFA), revealed that the act was recorded and circulated on society groups and social media platforms.

The video depicts the boy, under the supervision of an adult, picking up a puppy from a bush alongside its littermates and throwing it from the high-rise, resulting in the puppy’s death. The FIR urges the child’s appearance before a juvenile court.

Surbhi Rawat, a PFA volunteer, mentioned a previous incident in the same society where a puppy was found crushed under a vehicle, and another puppy died under suspicious circumstances.

Rawat expressed concern over the prevalent hostility towards dogs in the society, even among adults, and emphasized the need for serious intervention in cases where children exhibit psychopathic tendencies.

PFA trustee Ambika Shukla expressed worry about the lack of empathy displayed by the child and emphasized the importance of addressing such incidents seriously.
