Four drowned in Kundmala; Two fatalities reported
PUNE: An incident has come to light wherein four people drowned in Kundmala at Talegaon. Two of them were rescued, and the other two drowned. The incident took place on Thursday.
On Thursday morning, four friends from Jadhavwadi came to Kundmala. All four drowned in the Indrayani River at Kundmala.
Wildlife Protection Maval, Shivdurg Mitra Lonavala, Nilesh Garade, Bhaskar Mali, Anil Andre, Ganesh Dhore, Ganesh Nisal, Vinay Sawant, Ganesh Gaikwad, Vicky Daudkar, Avinash Karle, Shubham Kakade, Ninad Kakade, Vaibhav Wagh, Sagar Kumbhar, Ratan Singh, Yogesh Dalvi, Mahesh Masne, Sunil Gaikwad, Rajendra Kadu, Prashant Shede, Talegaon Dabhade Municipal Council Riyaz Mulani, Ganesh Javalekar, Shubham Kalokhe, Dheeraj Shinde, and Akshay Ghodekar rushed to the spot.
The rescue team managed to rescue two of the four, but two died. As per the information provided, the rescue team pulled the body of Ankit Verma from the water. Ashok Gulab Chavan (17), a resident of Chinchwad, is still missing. A search is underway for him. The search operation will resume on Friday.
