Ghats in Pimpri Chinchwad set to host 4 day Chhath Puja celebrations starting from Nov 17

Pune : The four-day Chhath Puja festival begins from November 17, Friday. For this, the president of Hanuman Mitra Mandal and working president of Chhath Puja Committee Vijay Gupta had requested Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner ( PCMC) Shekhar Singh that the municipal administration should provide a cleanliness system and other necessary things in the ghat area.
Vijay Gupta, working president of Chhath Puja Committee, said “North Indian families have been living in Pimpri Chinchwad city for many years. They celebrate Chhath Utsav on a grand scale at various places in the city every year. This festival is celebrated by Hanuman Mitra Mandal at Pavana river ghat in Chinchwad Gaon. Meanwhile, Surya Shashti Mahavrata will be started under Shri Surya Shashthi Mahavrat 2023 and on Friday (17th November) Surya Arghya, Saturday (18th November) Rasiyav Roti (Chot Ki Chhath), Sunday (19th November) Surya Shashti Vrat, Sandhya Argh and on Monday (20th November), Chhata festival will be celebrated ritually for four days, namely Paran, morning half.
Like last year, this year also various religious and social awareness programs like Grand Ganga Aarti, Pooja, Bhajan, and Chhath folk songs will be presented at Pavana River Ghat. I appeal to citizens to participate in this religious festival.”

Chhath Puja in Pimple Saudagar
Like every year in the Pimpri Chinchwad area, North Indian citizens celebrate the Chhata Puja festival with great gaiety. It is also celebrated every year at the Pavana river ghat near the Mahadev Mandir at Pimple Saudagar. This year a large number of North Indian citizens of the area will gather here to celebrate the festival. As a preliminary preparation, the ghat should be cleaned so as not to cause any inconvenience to the citizens on this ghat.
