Pune Station's 'Riksha Mitra' Prepaid Booth Resumes Service Amid Growing Demand
A significant number of rickshaw drivers have already registered at the booth, with approximately 300 drivers registered by 9 PM. The booth will be available to the public starting July 28, 2024.
The prepaid rickshaw booth at Pune Station was inaugurated today by Minister Chandrakant Patil. The event was graced by MLA Sunil Kamble, Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police for Traffic Rohidas Pawar, RTO Pune Archana Gaikwad, and Deputy RTO Pune Bhosale.
Booth Features:
- Citizens can avail of government-approved prepaid fares for rickshaws from Pune Station.
- The booth will be operational 24/7.
- Citizens can visit the booth, provide their travel details, and receive a slip with the reserved rickshaw information, travel details, and fare.
- The printed slip includes a QR code that passengers can scan to view details on their mobile phones and share with their families.
- The rickshaw driver’s mobile location will be tracked during the journey, ensuring prompt contact in case of emergencies.
- This service is completely free for both passengers and rickshaw drivers.
- The booth will be managed by both male and female rickshaw drivers.
Announcements by Minister Chandrakant Dada Patil:
1. Funds will be provided for booth management, ensuring free services at the booth.
2. All registered rickshaw drivers will receive two uniforms with free stitching.
3. Registered rickshaw drivers will be given CNG gas coupons worth ₹1000 per month.
4. Registered rickshaw drivers will have access to vehicle spare parts at reduced rates.
5. Free monthly dental, eye check-ups, spectacles, blood tests, and X-ray facilities will be provided for all rickshaw drivers and their families.
