Google’s Heartfelt Mother’s Day Doodle for Romania Captures Netizens’ Affectionate Spirit

As Romania gears up to celebrate Mother’s Day on 5th May, Google’s touching doodle resonates across the nation, symbolising the cherished bond between mothers and their children.

Google put out a doodle on 4th May, in advance of Mother’s Day in Romania. In Romania, Mother’s Day is celebrated on the first Sunday in May since 2010. In 2024, Mother’s Day will be celebrated on 5th May. 

Previously, Mother’s Day was celebrated on 8th March, as part of International Women’s Day.

This has become the most popular doodle across the whole region of Romania. It is a picture of a mother reading to her baby while sitting on a couch in a cosy environment. In the background, the word ‘Google’ is written, bringing the focus to the mother and child duo with some flowers and a dog.

Mother’s Day falls on different days around the world. In some countries, it falls in March or May. It is a day to honour and remember the mothers in our lives. It is a day when children present handmade gifts to their mothers, while adults purchase flowers and sweet treats to commemorate the special day and pay tribute to their mothers for their devoted care and service. It is traditionally celebrated on the second Sunday of May, which will be 12th May this year. 

Celebrating Mother’s Day with our mothers can take various forms, catering to individual preferences and circumstances. Spend quality time together by engaging in activities she enjoys, like leisurely walks or heartfelt conversations. Get creative with homemade gifts such as personalised cards, photo albums or home-cooked meals. Treat her to a day of relaxation and pampering with spa treatments or a luxurious bath at home. 

Organise a family gathering for brunch or dinner to honour the matriarch of the family. Offer the gift of service by taking on tasks she usually handles, from cleaning to running errands.
