Gujarati Couple Who Ran Away 64 Years Ago Finally Celebrate Their Wedding | Watch Their Heartwarming Story
Harsh and Mrudu, a couple from Gujarat, marked their 64th wedding anniversary in a truly special and emotional way—by finally having the wedding ceremony they were denied more than six decades ago.
Now in their 80s, the couple was surrounded by the love and blessings of their grandchildren and extended family as they experienced the traditional rituals they had once missed.
Their journey began in the early 1960s, a time when inter-caste marriages faced strong societal opposition in India. Harsh, a Jain, and Mrudu, a Brahmin, first met in school and exchanged letters, forming a deep bond. However, their love faced a tough challenge when Mrudu’s family strongly opposed their relationship.
With no other choice, the couple chose love over societal approval and eloped, starting a life together without family support. Despite the hardships, they built a strong and loving home, eventually earning the acceptance that once seemed impossible.
To honor their incredible journey, their grandchildren orchestrated a heartfelt surprise—a wedding ceremony on their 64th anniversary. For the first time in decades, Harsh and Mrudu were separated briefly to prepare for their big day, reliving the anticipation they never got to experience.
The ceremony included all the traditional rituals they had missed, from walking around the sacred fire to renewing their vows, symbolizing the love and commitment that carried them through a lifetime.
