Residents of NIBM road have been struggling to find space to walk on the footpath near Sunshree F. As the footpaths are being occupied by the unauthorised vendors.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, a resident of NIBM road said, “We are not against them but PMC should give them a designated spot to sit. If they continue to sit there they might just create more chaos. They will occupy the space permanently.” A resident of Sunshree The Gold, Priyadarshini Yadav said, “These people move away after 2 pm. These are poor people who have lost their jobs due to corona followed by lockdown.” Sanjay Jadhav, inspector, anti encroachment cell Hadapsar Ward office said, “We have been continuously taking action against the illegal hawkers which have increased after the lockdown restrictions have been relaxed. But many plead that they have nothing to do to earn to their livelihood and hence selling vegetables.” Local Corporator Nanda Lonkar said that despite taking actions these hawkers keep coming back. Due to lockdown many have lost their jobs. Hence many have resorted to selling vegetables. But I assure continuous action against those flouting rules shall be taken.
