A huge truck got stuck near a car showroom in Bavdhan for almost an hour. The driver ran away, leaving behind a big mess causing traffic in the area. Pune City Traffic Police has made a new rule amidst the heavy vehicles causing chaos in the city causing traffic jams in several areas. They said, “No more big trucks like trailers and containers can come into the city from twelve main roads.” This has been implemented from March 2024.

The roads were jammed because of the stuck truck, causing huge jam and distress amongst the commuters. People from the area tried to find the missing driver, but he was nowhere to be seen.

The police have made some other roads where these big trucks can go around the city instead.
Therefore, it is expected that with the new rule coming up, the huge vehicles won’t be a reason for traffic jam in Pune City.

Earlier, Pune City Traffic Police announced the entry of heavy vehicles at 12 important entry points into the City boundaries has been strictly prohibited for a complete 24 hours.

On these 12 prohibited routes, heavy vehicles will be allowed to commute from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
According to the Deputy Commissioner Of Police Shashikant Borate, a new set of orders regarding the entry of heavy vehicles such as containers, articulated vehicles, trailers, and axle trucks have been issued because several heavy vehicles were observed going through the City limits to shorten the distance, causing severe traffic problems at several locations in the City.

The 12 points where heavy vehicles are strictly prohibited are; Noble Hospital Square on Solapur Road, Kesnand Phata on Ahmednagar Road, Harris Bridge on Mumbai-Pune Old Highway, Rajiv Gandhi Bridge on Aundh, Hotel Radha Chowk on Baner Road, Chandini Chowk on Paud Road, Vadgaon Bridge Chowk on Sinhagad Road, Katraj Chowk on Satara Road, Khadi Machine Chowk on Katraj Mantarwadi Bypass Road and Bopkhel Phata Chowk on Alandi Road.
