Pune: The Mahalakshmi Temple, Kolhapur, and Jyotiba Temple, Kolhapur will now be full of advanced technology for the security and safety of the devotees.
The temple committee has submitted an affidavit to the Bombay High Court that they will install jammers and state-of-the-art CCTV cameras that will record faces for the safety of the devotees on the temple premises.
As per further information, 107 CCTV cameras have been installed in the temple premises for the safety of devotees. Also, like at the airport, the belongings of the devotees coming to the temple are checked. Due to this, it has been claimed that the number of thefts in the temple area has also reduced.
It is worthy to note that the security guards who are currently in the temple is to keep an eye on the devotees and to plan the queue. The affidavit states that if additional armed guards are appointed, the financial burden on the committee will increase. The temple committee has taken some measures for the safety of the devotees coming to the temple. There is a need to employ trained armed guards. The appointment has been stayed by the court. The temple committee has requested the High Court through an affidavit to lift this moratorium. However, refusing to lift the stay, the High Court has adjourned the hearing till December 20.
