Since Sunday night, Himachal has seen landslides and rising river levels, disrupting roads and communication. Schools and colleges have been shut in nine districts, including Shimla, Kullu, Kangra, Mandi, Solan, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Chamba, and Lahaul-Spiti.
According to the state disaster management authority, water levels in Pong Dam are also rising quickly due to heavy inflow. Authorities have warned that surplus water may need to be released in the coming days. People have been urged to stay away from rivers, streams, and landslide-prone areas.
