Historic Fort Shanivarwada in Pune Set for Extensive Restoration, Says MP Medha Kulkarni
Shanivarwada in Pune, the focal point of India’s rich history and a significant influence on the country’s politics, is set to undergo immediate restoration. The restoration efforts will involve meticulous restoration of dilapidated structures, preservation of mismatched paintings, and accurate historical representation through holograms. These ambitious tasks will require substantial funding and permissions.
A proposal outlining these plans is being prepared and will be submitted to the Department of Archaeology and the Department of Culture.
Dr, Medha Kulkarni, Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha, expressed gratitude for the restoration on X (formerly twitter).
The initiative was discussed during a recent site visit, attended by senior historians and experts including Pandurang Balkawade, Dr. Uday Kulkarni, Mohan Shete, Pushkar Peshwe, Rashmi Kulkarni, Ninad Patwardhan, Gajanan Mandavre from the Indian Archaeological Department, Omkar Garud, and architectural expert Prachit Kalamdani.
