First Phase Of Census 2027 Completed In Maharashtra
Pimpri, May 16, 2026: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has announced that the house listing and housing census process, part of the first phase of Census 2027, officially began in the city from May 16, 2026.
The survey drive will continue until June 14, 2026, during which enumerators will visit households across Pimpri Chinchwad to collect essential information from residents.

Citizens have been requested to fully cooperate with enumerators and provide correct and accurate details during the survey process. Officials stated that house listing and housing census form a crucial preliminary stage of the national census exercise, covering information related to households, residents, and basic civic amenities.
The data collected during the process will help the government prepare development plans and policies related to infrastructure, healthcare, education, and social welfare. Civic officials emphasized that public participation is essential for effective planning and governance.
PCMC Deputy Commissioner and City Census Officer Sachin Pawar said that all information collected by enumerators would remain completely confidential and would be used only for government policy-making and development planning purposes.
He assured citizens that protecting personal information remains the government’s highest priority and appealed to residents not to have any fear or doubts while sharing details with survey officials.
“Even a small contribution from every citizen can play an important role in shaping a brighter future for the city and the country,” Pawar said.

PCMC Commissioner and Principal Census Officer Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi stated that accurate, updated, and reliable information is essential for the country’s development.
“Census is not merely a data collection exercise, but the foundation for future development planning. Active and responsible participation by every citizen will contribute significantly to the nation’s overall progress. We appeal to all Pimpri Chinchwad residents to participate honestly and provide accurate information,” he said.
Additional Commissioner Kuldeep Jangam also emphasized that the house listing and housing census process is a critical step in national planning and urged residents to actively support the campaign and help make it successful.
