The coronavirus variant named JN.1 has been causing concern among health experts and the public alike.

JN. 1 shares many characteristics with earlier Omicron strains, such as high transmissibility and mild symptoms, some symptoms you should be worried about are initial symptoms like fever, runny nose, sore throat, headache, and, in certain cases, moderate gastrointestinal problems . Symptoms usually improve in 4-5 days time.

Breathing problems may also be experienced by certain patients

Although further research is needed to properly understand its behavior, preliminary findings indicate that it may not be more severe than earlier variations of COVID. The characteristics of the variation, including its transmissibility and effect on immunity, are still being monitored by India and the international community. Still, alertness is essential.

To prevent the spread of infection, we need to follow all contact precautions like

1. Frequent handwashing

2. Wearing masks

3. Maintaining social distance.

Experts have said that JN.1 does not seem to be more severe or dangerous than other known coronavirus variants.

However, precautionary steps should be taken because vulnerable people may always be in danger.
