The Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) app has become an indispensable tool for local train commuters in cities like Mumbai and Hyderabad. However, along with its convenience, users often encounter challenges while booking tickets online.

Recently, a commuter named Venkat took to social media to express his frustration with the UTS app’s limitations while attempting to book a local train ticket in Hyderabad.

He responded that many comments are pouring in, and wondered why?

In his comment, he was informed by another user, that his post has gone viral!

Venkat’s complaint stemmed from his inability to book an unreserved journey ticket for an MMTS coach between Lingampalli and Bharat Nagar stations. He lamented that this limitation led to him missing a local train, despite being ready to board from an adjacent platform. Sharing a screenshot of his struggle with the app, Venkat criticized the system’s design and the lack of understanding from those responsible for its implementation.

The post, shared on March 19, garnered significant attention, accumulating over 222,000 views and sparking a heated debate in the comments section.

While some users defended the app’s limitations, arguing that they were necessary to prevent misuse, others echoed Venkat’s frustration, citing similar experiences. One user highlighted the distance feature as a preventive measure against ticketless travel, emphasizing the need for balance between convenience and security in the ticketing system.
