Comedian and Bigg Boss 17 contestant Munawar Faruqui has shared a deeply personal account of his son’s fight against a rare disease and the financial challenges his family has faced.

Munawar Faruqui revealed that he had only Rs 700 when he desperately required funds for his son’s medical treatment, sharing his son’s ongoing fight against Kawasaki disease.

Speaking during a candid interview, Munawar revealed how his son’s health crisis has shaped his life and career choices, shedding light on the lesser-known struggles behind his public persona.

“My son has been battling a rare condition since birth,” Munawar said. “It’s been an emotional and financial rollercoaster for us. There were days when I wasn’t sure if I could provide the care he needed, and that fear is something I carry with me every day.”

Kawasaki disease, known for causing inflammation in blood vessels and potentially resulting in severe heart issues, confronted Munawar with one of the toughest times he has ever experienced.

Munawar remembered the rapid decline in his son’s health over a span of two to three days. Although he initially tried to manage the symptoms at home, the situation escalated, leading to a trip to the hospital. There, the doctors identified Kawasaki disease and informed him that three essential injections, each priced at ₹25,000, were urgently required. The total expense of ₹75,000 was daunting, particularly since Munawar had only ₹700-₹800 in his wallet at that moment.

In a race against time, Munawar urgently reached out to more than ten friends and acquaintances. Ultimately, a previous employer came through with the necessary funds. He described his journey to Mumbai Central to pick up the money and his swift return to the hospital within three hours. While the injections were given on schedule, the ordeal left him wrestling with the weight of having to borrow money.
