IIT Kharagpur initiates placement drive 2023 ; bags 700+ job offers on Day 1

Pune: On Sunday, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur initiated its 2023 placement drive and announced that students were offered more than 700 placement opportunities, including pre-placement offers (PPOs), on the first day itself.

Out of the various offers available, more than 19 were for international placements. These offers included multiple instances where students received employment offers surpassing Rs 1 crore CTC (cost to company). 

On Saturday, it was reported that a multitude of companies, totalling over 61, extended job offers to our students. These offers were primarily in the fields of software, analytics, finance banking, consulting and core engineering. Notable companies that offered pre-placement positions include Apple, Arthur D Little, Da Vinci, Capital One, DE Shaw, EXL Services, Glean, Google, Graviton, Microsoft, Mckinsey, Quantbox, Databricks, Square point, TSM, Palo Alto, and several others.

As per the information provided, the importance of a well-planned strategy in reaching out to numerous new companies has proven instrumental in overcoming the challenging market conditions and maintaining the institute’s esteemed reputation during the placement process. Additionally, companies have adopted a hybrid style for conducting interviews, with a significant number also opting for in-person interactions.

As a part of its pioneering endeavours, the Career Development Centre presents the inaugural ‘Academia Industry Conclave (AIC) 2023’. The main aim of this occasion is to foster collaboration and effectively bridge the gap between academia and industry.

MaITY emphasized that the main objective is to provide a platform for departments, centres, and schools to showcase their strengths and achievements to potential industry partners and recruiters.
