IMD Issues Orange Alert For Pune, Nashik, Satara, Ahilyanagar; Yellow Alert For Mumbai, Konkan, Vidarbha

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for the districts of Pune, Nashik, Satara, and Ahilyanagar for May 15, warning of intense rain spells accompanied by lightning, thunder, and strong gusty winds. The alert indicates the likelihood of poor visibility and temporary flooding in isolated areas. Residents have been advised to remain cautious and stay indoors during extreme weather conditions.
A yellow alert has also been sounded for Mumbai, the Konkan region, Vidarbha, and the remaining districts of Marathwada. The IMD has forecast thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds ranging from 40–50 km/h in Mumbai on May 15, with rain expected to continue till May 17.
Isolated pre-monsoon showers have already been reported in parts of the city, suggesting an early arrival of pre-monsoon activity. Rain alerts have also been issued for Thane, Raigad, and Palghar districts.
