IMD Pune to host Meteorological Exhibition to be held on March 23

On the occasion of the World Meteorological Day, the Climate Research and Services India in collaboration with India Meteorological Department is going to conduct a Meteorological Exhibition. The theme of the exhibition is, “At the frontline of Climate Action.”


The exhibition will be conducted tomorrow, Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Dr. Anupam Kashyapi, Scientist G and Head-in-Charge of CRS Pune, will inaugurate the exhibition at 10 AM to be held at its premises in Shivaji Nagar, Pune.


The exhibition will see live demonstration of Meteorological instruments, a session on how earthquakes are recorded, Meteorological services for air navigation, and one  live experience on weather observation. It will further showcase various facets of meteorology and seismology. Moreover a film on Expedition to Antarctica will also be shown in the exhibition. 


According to Shrikant Bhagwat, a Meteorologist, “All the instruments of the department will be shown. Moreover, how do we conduct weather forecasts and how our data is received by the Meteorological centre. Temperature observations models will also be shown.
IMD Pune expresses gratitude for the collaborative effort and invites the public to attend the inaugural ceremony. This event underscores the commitment of CRS Pune and IMD Pune to advancing meteorological science and services for the nation.
