Pune: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather warning for several districts in Maharashtra for April 7, 2023.

According to the IMD, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and light rain, with short period moderate intensity of rain associated with strong gusty winds of around 40 kmph, are likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Thane, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Satara, Nashik, and Nandurbar during the next 3-4 hours.

The IMD has advised people to take precautions while moving out and be prepared for possible thunderstorms, lightning, and rainfall. The weather warning comes as a result of moisture incursions from the Bay of Bengal, causing the winds to flow and leading to changes in weather patterns.

In addition to the thunderstorm warning, the IMD has also forecasted a decrease in day temperatures in Maharashtra for the next 3-4 days. The day temperature is expected to remain around 36 degrees Celsius due to the prevailing weather conditions. The IMD has also issued a yellow alert for Pune district and an orange alert for a few districts in the state, indicating the need for caution and preparedness.

This weather warning serves as a reminder for residents in the affected districts to stay informed about the changing weather conditions and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety. It is advisable to follow the guidelines and instructions issued by local authorities and the IMD during adverse weather conditions.
