Pune: On the occasion of the Ganesh festival and heavy rush of devotees, Laxmi Road, Shivaji Road, Bajirao Road & Tilak Road will be closed for traffic from 5 p.m. from September 23 to 27.

As per information, the five ‘Manache’ Ganpati mandals and the renowned ‘Dagdusheth’ Halwai Ganpati mandal are situated in the central areas of Pune, and as is the case every year, large numbers of devotees are expected to congregate in these areas for the celebrations.

On the other hand, some of the internal roads in Ghorpadi Peth and Ganj Peth and surrounding areas in the middle of the city will also be blocked for traffic during this period. The police said that traffic will be diverted on alternate routes. The police also urged the citizens to adhere to the traffic diversions.

Except for the vehicles of the fire brigade, police and other emergency services like the ambulance, no other vehicles would be allowed on these roads during the Ganesh festival after 5 p.m.

From 5 p.m. on September 23 till September 27, the stretch between Hamjekhan Chowk and Tilak junctions on Lakshmi Road, Gadgil Statue to Jedhe Chowk on Shivaji Road, Puram Chowk to Appa Balwant Chowk on Bajirao Futka Buruj on Bajiroad Road, the Road and MCCIA to Hirabaug on Tilak Road will be closed.

Also, people won’t be able to park their vehicles between Jijamata Chowk and Mandai junction on Shivaji Road, Mandai to Shanipar Chowk, Shanipar to Futka Buruj.
