The latest Forbes Billionaires List for 2024 showcases the remarkable success of Indian entrepreneurs, with several prominent names making their mark in the global wealth rankings.

Leading the pack is Nikhil Kamath, ranked 1062 with a staggering net worth of $3.1 billion. Co-founder of discount brokerage Zerodha, Nikhil, along with his elder brother Nithin Kamath, revolutionized the brokerage market in India with their Bangalore-based firm, which boasts 10 million clients, solidifying its position as one of the largest brokerage firms in the country. 

Nikhil, aged 37, also holds the distinction of being India’s youngest billionaire and a signatory of the Giving Pledge, committing to donate half of his wealth.

Following closely behind is Binny Bansal, aged 41, with a net worth of $1.4 billion, while his fellow Flipkart co-founder Sachin Bansal shares the same net worth and ranks at 2410. Ravi Modi of Vedant Fashions follows suit with a net worth of $2.6 billion, securing his place among the top Indian billionaires.

Notably, the Kamath brothers have witnessed a significant increase in their net worth over the past year, underscoring their continued success in the business world. Their entrepreneurial journey, rooted in Bengaluru, has been described by Forbes as a disruptive force in the brokerage market.

Meanwhile, other Indian stalwarts on the Forbes list include Mukesh Ambani, ranked 9th with a net worth of $84 billion, followed by Gautam Adani at rank 17 with a net worth of $84 billion, and Shiv Nadar at rank 39 with a net worth of $36.9 billion. Savitri Jindal and family also feature prominently at rank 46 with a net worth of $33.5 billion.

The presence of Zerodha founders Nithin and Nikhil Kamath, along with Flipkart founders Sachin and Binny Bansal, underscores the entrepreneurial prowess and innovation driving India’s economic landscape, positioning them as key players in the global business arena.
