Contrary to recent media reports, passengers with unreserved train tickets do not need to carry printed copies anymore. Indian Railways has clarified that travelers can continue to show their tickets on mobile devices to ticket inspectors. Passengers who already have a printed ticket must carry it as usual, but digital tickets remain valid for verification if no printout is taken. No new rules making printed tickets mandatory have been introduced.

In another significant move, Indian Railways has revised the timing for the preparation of reservation charts. The change is aimed at providing better clarity to passengers with waiting list (WL) or RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation) tickets, especially those traveling from distant areas. For trains departing between 05:01 hrs and 14:00 hrs, the first reservation chart will now be prepared by 8:00 pm on the previous day, giving travelers a clearer idea of their ticket status well before their journey.

Digital ticketing has become the preferred choice for most passengers. According to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, e-tickets now account for over 87% of all reserved bookings on Indian Railways. The convenience of booking tickets online through IRCTC has significantly reduced the need for standing in queues at station counters.

Beyond ticketing, Indian Railways is also enhancing the travel experience through regional cuisine offerings on Vande Bharat trains. This initiative allows passengers to enjoy authentic local flavors from different states while on board. Some of the menu highlights include:
