In the quest for excellence in competitive exams like the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for admission to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), students often find themselves making significant sacrifices. Recently, a post on X (formerly Twitter) shed light on the demanding schedule of a friend diligently preparing for the JEE, unveiling the extent of dedication required for such aspirations.

The handwritten schedule, shared by a user known as “Mr. Rc,” revealed the arduous routine of a 17-year-old candidate who, in pursuit of academic success, allows himself only 4.5 hours of sleep each night, rising at 4:30 a.m.

The schedule, meticulously outlined by the determined teenager, unfolds with revising previous chapters consuming the initial 2.5 hours of the morning. Following this, the candidate delves into classwork until 10 a.m., punctuated by a brief 15-minute nap. Resuming studies until noon, a swift twenty-minute lunch break ensues. The subsequent three hours are dedicated to intense studying, culminating in another brief nap of 30 minutes.

Evening brings more commitments as the candidate attends classes from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., followed by a concise 30-minute session for notes. Post-dinner, the rigorous studying resumes until the late hours of 11:45 p.m. Mr. Rc, the friend who shared the schedule, emphasized the unwavering commitment of the aspirant to diligently adhere to this routine, fueled by a tenacious desire to uplift his family from financial hardship.

The post garnered attention from many, prompting discussions on the sheer determination exhibited by countless young individuals striving for academic excellence, particularly those hailing from less affluent backgrounds. Indeed, in the competitive landscape of examinations like the JEE, where success opens doors to prestigious educational institutions, the sacrifice of sleep and unwavering dedication seem to be the only pathways forward for many aspirants.
