Jewelry Shop Owner Robbed at Gunpoint on B.T. Kawade Road
Pune, December 9, 2024:
An armed robbery occurred at Arihant Jewelers on BT Kawade Road in Ghorpadi, Pune, on Sunday night. Three masked assailants stormed into the jewelry shop at approximately 8:30 PM. Holding the shop owner at gunpoint, the robbers sprayed pepper spray into his eyes and assaulted him with a blunt weapon before fleeing on a motorcycle with stolen jewelry.
The shop owner immediately informed the Wanawadi police, who reached the scene and initiated an investigation. Crime Branch teams were also deployed to analyze CCTV footage from the area and identify the suspects. Senior police officers have ordered checkpoints to trace the robbers.
This incident marks the second jewelry shop robbery on BT Kawade Road in a year. Previously, a similar case involved a gunpoint robbery of a jeweler near Sayyed Nagar in Hadapsar. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact value of the stolen jewelry and apprehend the culprits.
