Junnar Bus Accident: Two Dead, Fifteen Injured in Severe ST Bus and Car Collision
Pune: In a tragic incident, a severe accident occurred in Junnar Taluka on the Nagar-Kalyan road near Otur, resulting in the collision of an ST bus and a car. The accident claimed the lives of two individuals and left fifteen passengers injured.
The ST bus was traveling on the Nagar-Kalyan route when it approached Otur, where it collided head-on with an oncoming car. The impact was so severe that the car was completely wrecked. The two individuals in the car died on the spot, while fifteen passengers in the bus sustained injuries.
Upon receiving information about the accident, local residents rushed to the scene to assist. They helped extricate the injured passengers from the bus and sent them to a nearby hospital for treatment. The police were also informed about the incident.
The ST bus was en route from Parner to Mumbai, while the car was headed towards Alephata when the collision occurred near Otur. The injured passengers from the bus were initially taken to healthcare facilities in Alephata and Otur for primary treatment.
As of now, the identities of the deceased and the injured passengers are not yet known.
This incident highlights a concerning rise in ST bus accidents in the state over recent days.
