Leopard Sighting in Dive Ghat: Viral Video Shows Close Call for Motorcyclists
Dive Ghat, a popular spot among Pune Residents for long drives, has made headlines once again due to a leopard sighting. The leopard crossed the road, narrowly missing two motorcyclists, causing panic among travelers. A person in a car captured the incident on their mobile phone. The video of the leopard running across the road is currently viral on social media.
Located near Hadapsar, Dive Ghat is a route towards Saswad. Early this morning, a leopard descended from the mountain at the third turn from Wadki on the descent from Saswad and disappeared into the trees. This sighting was reported by residents of Wadki.
Previously, residents of Wadki had reported leopard sightings without any video or photo evidence until now. Following the video release, villagers have urged travelers to exercise caution. On Saturday, two riders had a narrow escape as the leopard crossed the road. In September 2023, a leopard was also spotted near this location. In response to the recent footage, the Forest Department has increased vigilance and patrolling in the area. The Saswad region is known for frequent leopard sightings and potential attacks.
