Kalarang Mahotsav to be held on April 7, 8 in Kothrud

Kalarang Mahotsav’ – presented by Belvalkar Sanskrutik Manch and conceptualized by Rajesh Damle – will be held on Friday April 7 and Saturday April 8 – at Keshavbaug on DP Road from 6.30 PM onwards on both days. Entry to the program on both the days is free on a first come first serve basis. However, a few seats are reserved for the invitees.

The feature of this year’s ‘Kalarang Mahotsav’ is actor Sachin Khedekar will be conferred with the ‘Nilu Phule Sanmaan’. The announcement was made by Sameer Belvalkar of Belvalkar Sanskrutik Manch at a Press Conference held today. Nilu Phule’s son in law Omkar Thatte,Rajesh Damle and Nakul Belvalkar were present on the occasion.

Sharing more details about the Festival, Sameer Belvalkar said, “We always organize good cultural programs for the Pune audience. From this year, we are organizing the Kalarang Mahotsav, under which Belvalkar Sanskrutik Manch and Gargi Phule-Thatte will jointly present the Nilu Phule Sanmaan, every year to a noted actor or actress.”

This year, actor Sachin Khedekar, who has been working in Marathi and Hindi industry since the past four decades across different formats, will be bestowed with the Sanmaan, which comprises Rs 21,000 cash and a momento.

The ‘Kalarang Mahotsav’ will start on April 7 (Friday) with an audio-visual program on Nilu Phule titled ‘Motha Nat-Sadha Manoos’, which depicts the journey of the late actor. Written by Satish Jakatdar, the program will be presented by noted compeer Rajesh Damle.

It will be followed by a program ‘Hi Anokhi Gaath’ by lyricist Vaibhav Joshi. Vaibhav Joshi will speak about the poets and lyricists who have impacted his life in the program, which will be moderated by actress Samira Gujar.

After this, Vaibhav Joshi will unveil a special magazine ‘Eise Akshare’, which is presented by Belvalkar Sankrutik Manch.

On Saturday April 8, veteran film-maker Dr Jabbar Patel will present the ‘Nilu Phule Sanmaan’ to Sachin Khedekar in presence of Nilu Phule’s daughter Gargi Phule-Thatte. Then Rajesh Damle will interview Sachin Khedekar.
