Residents of several residential societies in Vijay Nagar area of Kalewadi in Pimpri-Chinchwad are troubled by the repeated power cuts in one week.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Nagraj Naik, Resident of Sai Enclave, Vijay Nagar, Kalewadi, said “Since last 6 months, power cuts in my area have been very regular apart from long power cuts on every Thursday in the week. I have raised multiple complaints through email and phone calls to MSEDCL. After many general complaints to MSEDCL, I had called Nodal Officer to make him aware of this issue but, as expected, he was not aware of this issue and seemed not interested to talk more on this and pass responsibility to junior officers.”

Mohan Shinde, Resident of Amrutdham Society, Vijay Nagar, Kalewadi, said “Power cuts have been very frequent in our area for a long time. Whenever the electricity supply gets cut in our area, it doesn’t come back for some time. Apart from Thursday, which is a common day for electricity supply to go off, on Friday, Sunday etc as well, power cuts happen. We cannot use electricity appliances due to such power cuts. I run a saloon. Hence, I am in need of electricity for long hours. Due to power cuts, my clients & customers have to wait for a long time, facing inconvenience.”

Somnath Mundhe, Nodal Officer, MSEDCL Pimpri-Chinchwad Division, said “We have inspected the location. As of now, there is no issue in Vijay Nagar. However, we will keep monitoring & resolving any electricity issues which come.”
