Kangana Ranaut Breaks Silence On Viral ‘Secret Marriage’ Rumours: ‘I Won’t Marry Secretly’
Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut reacted after a video of her wearing a mangalsutra and green bangles sparked speculation about her marriage on social media.
Kangana Ranaut has finally reacted to rumours surrounding her “secret marriage” after a viral video showed the actor wearing a mangalsutra, green bangles and kumkum on her forehead. The video quickly triggered speculation online, with many social media users questioning whether the actor-politician had secretly tied the knot.

Responding to the rumours, Kangana clarified that the look was part of her film shoot and not connected to her personal life. Sharing a note on Instagram, she wrote, “I am shooting for a film every day in the city. Someone took a casual photo of me and at that time I was in character and makeup. Now I am getting a lot of calls, but what is such a big issue about the appearance of married women? Actors play all kinds of roles. I will not get married secretly. I promise.”
The actor also questioned why dressing like a married woman was becoming such a major topic of discussion online. In another version of her statement shared on social media, Kangana said, “Someone clicked a random photo of my character’s makeup artist. Now I am getting a lot of phone calls. But why is looking like a married woman such a big issue?”
Kangana’s clarification comes just days after rumours linked her with politician Chirag Paswan. The two had been spotted together several times at public and political events, leading to speculation about a possible relationship. However, Kangana had already dismissed those rumours in a recent interview.
Speaking to news agency earlier she had said, “No, no, Chirag is a friend. When I see him, I think of a friend. There’s no romance happening, let me be honest.” She further joked, “Agar romance hota toh aaj humare bacche hote.”
Kangana also revealed that she and Chirag had known each other for many years, even before entering politics. The two had worked together in the 2011 film Miley Naa Miley Hum, which marked Chirag Paswan’s acting debut.
Meanwhile, amid the ongoing discussion around the viral video, Kangana also shared a separate message about working in extreme summer conditions. Referring to rising temperatures and heatwave complaints, she wrote, “News anchors are complaining about the outside temperature and heat wave from their AC studios, but what about people like us, who are shooting outside in the scorching sun? Stop complaining, friends.”
