A doctor in Karnataka has been suspended from service for conducting a pre-wedding shoot in the operation theater at Bharamasagar Government Hospital in Chitradurga district. Dr. Abhishek, a contractual doctor at the hospital, faced suspension following the incident, and Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao emphasized that such indiscipline from medical professionals will not be tolerated.

The decision to suspend Dr. Abhishek was made in line with the state Health department’s recommendation. Minister Rao stressed that government hospitals are meant for providing healthcare to the public, not for personal activities. He urged all contract employees, including doctors, to adhere to government service rules and emphasized the need for medical staff to focus on their duties.

A video of the pre-wedding shoot, conducted without permission, had gone viral on social media earlier in the week, leading to the suspension. Minister Rao underscored the importance of utilizing government facilities in hospitals for the benefit of the common people and urged medical staff to prioritize their responsibilities.
