Pune: Citizens can register complaints through the ‘cVIGIL’ application created by the Election Commission of India if any violation is found in the code of conduct imposed after the bypolls were announced for Kasba and Chinchwad constituencies.

Citizens can complain online regarding violation of code of conduct, illegal advertisement boards, distribution of money to voters, distribution of liquor, luring citizens by gifts, threatening by weapons, etc. during elections. For this one can go to the play store and download ‘cVIGIL’ app for free.

After starting the application, one can post a photo, video or audio and a complaint will get registered. This information is sent to the flying squad team within five minutes of registering the complaint. The Bharari team immediately inquires about this and submits a report to the election decision officer who promptly takes action on it.

After the cancellation of the complaint, a message is sent to the complainant through the application. Apart from this, citizens can also register complaints with the code of conduct cell, said Deputy Collector and Coordinating Officer Sachin Ithape.

He also informed that after announcement of by-polls, 52 complaints were received and complaints have been closed after taking appropriate action.
