Kaun Banega Crorepati 16: Contestant Asks Amitabh Bachchan About His Top 3 "Video Call A Friend" Picks; Host Names Navya Nanda
The most recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 began with host Amitabh Bachchan conducting the fastest finger first round, which allowed Binod Kumar Choudhary to take a seat in the hotseat. Binod hails from Katihar, Bihar, where he operates a coaching institute with approximately 60 students. He shared that he previously taught at another institute, earning only around Rs 4000-5000. As the game commenced, Binod encountered a challenging question for Rs 3000 regarding the main ingredient of a well-known dish from Bihar called ‘tarua’ or ‘bajka.’ He decided to use the ‘Audience Poll’ lifeline and chose Option B) Vegetables. Binod also mentioned that he got married a year ago, leading Big B to humorously ask whether marriage has made him more calm and composed or if he has always been this way.
The audience burst into laughter at the playful exchange. Binod replied that he has always been this way and commended his wife for her constant support. The host then read the question for the ‘Super Sawaal’: Which cricket stadium celebrated its 50th anniversary in January 2025, with Rohit Sharma sending a special message for the event? Binod confidently answered Wankhede Stadium and earned the super power, ‘Dugnastraa’.
Next, he faced a question for Rs 40,000: The demon Hiranyaksha was defeated by which avatar of Lord Vishnu? Binod used his super power ‘Dugnastraa’ for this question and answered Option B) Varah, winning the bonus amount.
For the next question worth Rs 40,000, Binod again opted for a lifeline. The question was about who became the second Indian chess player to surpass the 2800 Elo rating in 2024. He used ‘Double Dip’ and first selected Option A) D Gukesh, which was incorrect. For his second choice, he picked Option C) R Praggnanandhaa, but that also turned out to be wrong. As a result, Binod lost the game and ended up with Rs 10,000.
Fawaz Kamaal Hashmi, hailing from Bhopal and currently residing in Pune, secured a spot on the hot seat after taking home Rs 10,000 and the bonus amount of Rs 20,000. As a Software Engineer Consultant for a multinational company, he shared that he has been living in a PG in Pune for the past two years, where he has formed an extended family of 40 friends.
With a smile, he joked that his room is affectionately called “the headquarters,” and he expressed how much he misses his friends. Fawaz contrasted his life in Bhopal, which he described as having several restrictions, with his life in Pune, where he declared, “my life, my room, my rules.” This prompted laughter from the audience when host Mr. Bachchan glanced at Fawaz’s parents and playfully requested them to allow him a bit more freedom during his next visit home.
Fawaz, taking the help of a lifeline for the Rs 10,000 question, asked about the app with tabs named ‘chats’, ‘updates’, ‘communities’, and ‘calls’. He used the ‘Audience Poll’ lifeline and locked in Option C) What App. Mr. Bachchan humorously pointed out, “You are a Software consultant and you don’t know this?”
For the Super Sawaal, the question was about the former Finance and Railways minister who is the minister of Commerce and Industry as of 2024. Fawaz answered Ashwini Jadhav, which was incorrect. The correct answer was ‘Piyush Goyal’.
Later, Fawaz asked Mr. Bachchan if he could pose a few questions on behalf of the audience. He then curiously inquired about whom Mr. Bachchan would choose as his top three contacts for “Video Call A Friend” and why. The host replied, “Sir humari joh poti hai na Navya Nanda woh ek hongi. Kyunki jab hum kabhi ek saath baithe hote hain aur ye karyakram chalta hai, jitne bhi prashan aate hain, option daalne se pehle woh bol deti hain, answer kya hai. Woh ek he kaafi hai.”
