Ganeshotsav is round the corner and the city is gearing up to celebrate the festival in a grand manner, after a mellowed down celebration for two years due to the pandemic.

The various government departments are doing their bit to ensure that festivities go on smoothly. The Food and drug administration has directed all Ganesh Mandals in Pune to strictly follow the rules of hygiene while preparing and distributing Prasad during the festival.

“There is a large demand for raw materials for preparing sweets. To fight adulteration, the administration will be carrying out a special campaign to check the food samples. This campaign will go on till December 2022,” said Sanjay Nargude, joint commissioner, FDA.
