Ketan Agarwal Murder Case: Police To Conduct Gait Analysis Of Chetan Chaudhary. Know What It Means.
Pune, June 30, 2026: The Pune Rural Police will conduct a gait analysis of murder accused Chetan Chaudhary as part of the ongoing investigation into the alleged murder of Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal. Investigators informed the Vadgaon Maval Court that Chaudhary’s walking pattern captured on CCTV footage at Lohagad Fort will be compared with a recreated video to establish his identity and movements on the day of the incident.
The court extended the police custody of Chaudhary, 22, and co-accused Siya Goyal, 20, until July 3 after the prosecution argued that further custodial interrogation was necessary to investigate several crucial aspects of the case. The duo has been accused of conspiring to murder Agarwal, 25, by allegedly pushing him off a cliff at Lohagad Fort on June 18.

According to the prosecution, the proposed gait analysis will compare Chaudhary’s stride, posture and limb movements seen in CCTV footage with a recreated sequence at the fort. Police said the exercise became necessary because Chaudhary allegedly wore a hoodie to conceal his identity during the incident. Investigators plan to recreate the footage by making him wear similar clothing and walk along the same route to determine whether the movement patterns match.
The prosecution further informed the court that the accused had allegedly visited Lohagad Fort before the incident to identify the location where the crime was later carried out. Police also stated that both accused had allegedly met at various places to plan the murder and that deleted digital evidence, believed to be crucial to the investigation, is currently being recovered. Investigators intend to verify the reconstructed sequence of events, earlier prepared based on Siya Goyal’s statement, through Chaudhary’s interrogation.
Police also told the court that CCTV footage indicates the accused interacted with several individuals at the fort on the day of the incident. These interactions are being examined, and recently identified witnesses will be confronted with the accused during questioning. Investigators are also attempting to recover Ketan Agarwal’s missing passport, which they allege was removed from his bag by Siya Goyal and discarded at a food mall in Khalapur while travelling from Pune to Mumbai.
During the hearing, advocate Vipul Dushing, representing Siya Goyal, argued that her arrest was illegal and lacked sufficient grounds. Advocate Ram Shahane, appearing for Chaudhary, contended that his client’s role in the FIR was limited and not clearly defined. Brief confusion also arose in court after another advocate, Aashutosh Srivastava, submitted a vakalatnama claiming to represent Siya. However, both Siya and her family informed the court that Dushing was her authorised counsel.
Police further claimed that Chaudhary travelled to Lohagad Fort on a scooter instead of a car to avoid leaving toll plaza records. Investigators allege he wore a hoodie while climbing the fort, later removed it and remained in a black T-shirt before wearing the hoodie again while leaving in an attempt to conceal his identity. Police have also recorded statements from Siya Goyal’s parents and brother as part of the ongoing investigation.
