Pune, June 30, 2026: A family has alleged serious hygiene violations at a popular Toni Daa Dhaba’s Toni Greens restaurant near Wet’n’Joy Water Park, in Lonavala claiming they found flies in their food on two separate occasions during a visit. The incident has sparked concerns over food safety, particularly as the restaurant is frequented by families and tourists.

According to the family’s account, they visited the restaurant with two young children expecting a clean dining experience. During the meal, they allegedly discovered a dead fly in a serving of masala papad. Believing it to be an isolated incident, the family chose to continue with their meal.

However, they claim a second fly was later found in the rice while it was being served by the restaurant manager. The family confronted the staff over the repeated hygiene issue.

The complainants further alleged that restaurant staff explained the flies were dying after exposure to chemical sprays used to control insects on the premises, causing them to fall onto tables and into customers’ food. The family also claimed they observed numerous dead and partially dead flies on the restaurant floor and surrounding areas.

Calling the situation a serious public health concern, the family has urged authorities to investigate the matter and appealed to the public to exercise caution while dining at the establishment.

The allegations have not been independently verified, and no official statement from the restaurant or food safety authorities was available at the time of publication.
