Kia Motors is gearing up for one of its most important years in India as it prepares an aggressive product rollout for 2026. The brand is planning to strengthen its presence across mass-market, electric, and premium SUV segments with three major launches. From the next-generation Seltos to an all-electric Syros and a flagship three-row SUV in the form of the Sorento, Kia’s 2026 strategy signals a clear intent to expand both its footprint and appeal in the Indian market.

Here’s a detailed look at what Kia has lined up for India in 2026.

Kia will kick off its 2026 campaign with the launch of the second-generation Seltos on January 2, 2026, after unveiling the SUV on December 10. This all-new version marks a significant evolution over the outgoing model, both in terms of design and interior quality.

The 2026 Seltos adopts a bold new design language, featuring a more upright front end and distinctive vertical LED DRLs. It is larger than the current model, which translates into improved cabin space and enhanced passenger comfort. Inside, the SUV gets a completely redesigned interior, highlighted by a trinity panoramic display setup, similar to what is seen in the Syros. Kia has also focused on elevating the fit and finish, giving the cabin a more premium feel.

Mechanically, the new Seltos will continue with the existing powertrain options:

1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol producing 115hp

1.5-litre turbo-petrol delivering 160hp

1.5-litre diesel with 116hp

Looking ahead, Kia is expected to hybridise the naturally aspirated petrol engine by 2027 to better compete with rivals like the Maruti Grand Vitara.

The expected price range for the 2026 Kia Seltos is ₹12 lakh to ₹22 lakh, positioning it competitively in the midsize SUV segment.

Kia Syros EV: Electric SUV Launching in Q2 2026

As part of its electric mobility expansion, Kia is set to introduce the Syros EV in the second quarter of 2026. This will be the all-electric version of the Syros SUV and will be built on the K1 platform, which it shares with the globally available Hyundai Inster EV.

The Syros EV is expected to offer two battery options:

42 kWh battery with a WLTP range of around 300 km

49 kWh battery with a WLTP range of approximately 355 km

Spy images suggest that the Syros EV will retain its boxy silhouette while gaining EV-specific design elements. These are likely to include a blanked-off front grille, subtle aerodynamic tweaks, and a charging port located on the front-left fender, similar to the design differentiation seen between the Clavis EV and its ICE counterpart.

Inside, the cabin is expected to remain largely similar to the ICE-powered Syros, with only minor changes to trims, upholstery, and EV-specific displays.

The Kia Syros EV is expected to be priced between ₹15 lakh and ₹18 lakh, making it a strong contender in the affordable electric SUV space.

Kia Sorento: Premium Three-Row SUV for H2 2026

At the top end of Kia’s 2026 lineup will be the Kia Sorento, a premium 7-seater SUV expected to arrive in India in the second half of 2026. Kia is reportedly exploring localisation options for the Sorento or possibly introducing a new SUV based on the same platform to better compete with rivals such as the Jeep Meridian and Toyota Fortuner.

Globally, the Sorento features Kia’s latest design philosophy, with vertically stacked LED headlights and tail-lights, a wide rectangular grille, and a distinctive kink at the C-pillar. The interior is equally impressive, offering dual 12.3-inch curved displays and a feature-rich cabin that includes Level-2 ADAS.

Measuring just over 4.8 metres in length, the Sorento is comparable in size to the Jeep Meridian. Its 2,815mm wheelbase allows for a spacious three-row layout, with features such as power-folding second and third-row seats available in some global markets like the UK.

Internationally, the Sorento is offered with:

Two 1.6-litre turbo-petrol hybrid powertrains (including a plug-in hybrid)

A 2.2-litre diesel engine

However, for India, Kia is likely to use engines derived from the Seltos lineup to keep costs in check.

The expected price for the Kia Sorento in India is around ₹35 lakh, placing it firmly in the premium SUV category.
